Hello!  My name is Andrea Howard.  This is my 5th year teaching kindergarten and my 3rd year here at Glenview.

I love teaching the Kindergarten class!  This is an amazing age group to work with.  I like to make learning fun, and I enjoy seeing the strides that each child takes during a school year.  I want my students to enjoy the journey of learning. To help each student learn to read effectively, I use Spaulding phonics and sight words.  We also enjoy learning about social studies, math, handwriting, and science.  It is wonderful to see the progress a child makes academically and in their relationship with God. 

I have a B.A. degree in psychology from La Sierra (Loma Linda University) and a M.A. degree in Counseling Psychology form Loyola Marymount University.  I am also a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist.  Before moving to Arizona I worked as a clinician at a children's mental health clinic in northern California.  For most of my career I have worked with children who have had special emotional needs.
